JD Sports buys Fenchurch ?

According to an article published in Retail Week, British retailer JD Sports – specialist in sports fashion and owner of Chausport in France – has bought London-based streetwear brand Fenchurch for 1.5 million pounds, which was battling through difficult financial times. The acquisition, however, did not include the re-hiring of the company’s staff, nor the control over the self-owned Covent Garden store.

A while ago, Superdry’s owner Supergroup announced that it was considering buying Fenchurch, but it looks like JD Sports has beaten its fellow retailer to it.
